is very different from your normal insurance agency. We help people
"balance" their insurance portfolio. As "brokers",
we work for our clients, not one specific insurance company. We objectively
gather the facts about your specific situation and prepare "comparison
quotes" of your best options from experienced insurance companies
. We firmly believe most people will keep what they CHOOSE TO BUY
and
that they regularly question the policies they are SOLD. We generate
"price and benefit comparisons" for every type of insurance
we represent. Specifically, they include Health Insurance, Life Insurance,
Disability Insurance, Dental Insurance, and Long Term Care. We have
quality plans for you whether you need a personal policy or a "group
plan" for your business. We do not quote Auto, Homeowners, Renters,
or Liability Insurance
although we know quality agents who do
a great job in these areas (see the Referral
Services section of this web site). The following is an overview
of the areas of insurance we specialize in and our feelings about your
needs for these types of protection.
Before you buy
any insurance from us, you should consider the proper priority of each
type. For most individuals and families, you should first make sure
your have health insurance in place. If you have dependents,
you should next consider proper life insurance. If you rely on
your earned income to pay your living expenses, some form of disability
insurance comes next. Finally, to protect the your assets, you should
consider the benefit of having Long Term Care protection. Each
type of insurance plays a key role in your proper protection.
Health & Dental Insurance
This is the foundation to any successful insurance or financial plan.
Tailoring a health insurance plan allows you to save money on the premiums
while creating a "stop loss" in case of a catastrophic claim.
Health and dental plans vary dramatically from company to company. It
can be a confusing decision process. Unfortunately, many people don't
take the time to get professional help and rely on a colleague or friends
for advice. The problem with this tactic is everyone's needs are different.
An HMO might be fine for one person/family while a PPO is much better
suited for someone else. We have no predisposition towards one or the
other. Our clients needs, age, location, health history, and
doctor dictate the most appropriate plans. Once we know these
facts, we search the market, simplify the options, compare the alternatives,
and make specific recommendations. We do exactly as you would do, if
you had the time and knew where to look. The result is appropriate protection
at the right price.

Life
Insurance
Proper life insurance is the most inexpensive way to protect
your dependents and your business from the financial disaster caused
by death during our working years. Over the years, life insurance is
the only form of insurance that has consistently become less expensive.
The reason is simple. As medical technology and proper nutrition have
improved, people are living longer. This fact allows life insurance
companies to charge lower premiums simply because they know they should
collect more premiums (over time) before a claim may occur. Unfortunately,
life insurance has become somewhat of a "commodity" in many
people's eyes. You can now apply for life insurance over the Internet,
through the mail, and over the phone. As a "planning firm",
we see many people being lured to buying cheap life insurance
without much consideration other than price. The real concern is the
fact that such a "self help" program often results in inadequate
protection. By inadequate, we mean people either buy too little protection
or buy it for too short a period of time for their needs.
It only takes a
few minutes for $olution$
to evaluate your personal need for life insurance and prepare your alternatives
(in a comparison format). Our recommendations are based on your age,
health, habits, and financial needs. You may simply need "term"
insurance to protect your family for a specific period of time or you
may need some form of "permanent" insurance for estate planning
purposes. The key to your successful life insurance plan is having a
knowledgeable, experienced broker balancing all your needs and
saving you time. We have the technology to shop the market using the
same companies and products offered through the Internet. There's no
magic to getting low rates. We simply combine the same companies offering
low rates with customer service and knowledge.
Disability
Insurance
Simply put
. if you work, earn an income, and your family lives
off your income, you need disability insurance. If you are "self-employed"
a disability policy is a MUST. If you work for a company, some employers
offer "group disability" plans. Such coverage can be "short
term" or "long term" protection. Social Security offers
catastrophic protection, but unfortunately over 90% of the claims turned
in to Social Security are denied because of the definition of disability
in their contract.
The key is to evaluate
any current disability protection you have and look for "gaps"
in your coverage. Is your "benefit period" long enough? Is
your "elimination period" short enough. Do you have enough
insurance to make sure your lifestyle is not compromised if you're unable
to work? We can help you evaluate your personal policy, the protection
offered through your employer, and/or Social Security benefits. We'll
help you decide if a "short term" or a "long term"
plan is more appropriate for your needs. We can help you understand
the difference between a personal policy, a group policy, and even a
"mortgage disability plan". Once you understand the alternatives,
you'll be better equipped to decide which plan is right for you. We
offer all forms of disability insurance because everyone's needs are
different. Let us help you make a good decision to protect your income.

Long
Term Care Insurance
Advances if medical technology have allowed us to live longer lives.
Unfortunately, such long lives often come with deteriorated capacities.
Long Term Care facilities are growing at a rapid pace and have not yet
caught up with the need for space. Many elderly (and not so elderly)
people are relying on Long Term Care both at their homes and in nursing
homes, and the cost is tremendous. The average cost of "in
home" long term care is about $3,000 per month. If you're in a
nursing home, the average cost is nearly $50,000 per year. According
to the New England Journal of Medicine, the average Alzheimer's patient
needs such care for 96 months at a cost of $455,000. The
average diabetes patient requiring long term care will need it for 48
months at a cost of $227,000. How many of us can afford to
have our estates (or our parent's estates) eroded by such numbers?
Most people think
long term care is covered by Medicare and their health insurance
plan. The fact is Medicare only covers the first 100 days
in a long term care facility and health insurance does not cover any
of the costs specific to long term care. (Health insurance only covers
the actual medical costs, not the caregiver's costs.) There are two
answers to the problem. First, pay such costs out of your savings and
investments. Second, buy proper Long Term Care Insurance. If you plan
early, the premiums are very reasonable. LTC policies only get expensive
when you wait too long
. your rates increase as you get older and
your health normally deteriorates. Early planning can save you and
your family hundreds of thousands of dollars! Most companies offer
good LTC policies for people as young as 40 and your premiums are dramatically
reduced compared to the cost of the same policy when you're 70. LTC
planning can have a substantial affect on the financial future of your
family.
